About Us

Kim’s Project aims to meet the needs of women involved in or at risk for engaging in prostitution/sex trade, who often have lengthy histories of physical and sexual violence, trauma, and childhood sexual abuse.

Realizing that there are no simple solutions, Kim’s Project has developed the following services in order to provide the best possible support for whatever small or large steps a woman might take toward ensuring her own safety and healing:

Harm Reduction: Services to meet the specific needs of women currently involved in prostitution and to support women in being as safe and healthy as possible while respecting their rights and choices.

Intervention: Working in collaboration with the courts to shift the response to prostitution-related offenses to more service-oriented approaches, which can help break the cycle of repeated arrests, and to build a system of support.

Recovery: Referrals to a variety of services that address trauma, addiction, homelessness, poverty, and various health-related issues. This includes access to more holistic, gender-specific treatment programs that can help women find their way from addiction and exploitation to wellness and confidence.

Transition and Reintegration: Access to services that support women who want to leave prostitution and help women who want to rebuild their life, overcome the past, and work toward a successful future after they return from prison on prostitution-related charges. Kim’s Project offers support, resources, and an opportunity to build relationships outside of the life.
